Typical to the Basque region, a 'Piperade' is a dish prepared by sautéing onions, green peppers, tomatoes and red Espelette pepper. The colours coincidentally reflect the colours of the Basque flag.

Conserves Guintrand recommend serving warm with roasted, or grilled poultry or meat, added to butter-scrambled eggs, alongside thin slices of cured ham or perfect cold or slightly chilled as a starter to a summer meal or as a vegetable side dish.

Guintrand has been canning locally grown fruits and vegetables in Carpentras, Provence, for well over a hundred years. Starting from humble beginnings in 1898 with only a horse drawn tomato press. Still in the family the company is now operated by the fourth generation of the Guintrand family.
